A Day in the Life: Unveiling the Secrets of a Balanced and Healthy Lifestyle

A day in my life as a health and wellness blogger is filled with purpose and passion. Here’s a glimpse into my routine:

Morning Routine

I start my day early, usually waking up between 5-6 a.m. to kickstart my morning routine. I begin with writing in my Five Minute Journal, a gratitude practice I’ve had for over seven years. This takes 5 minutes out of my day! Afterward, I’ll meditate using my Muse headband to center my mind and set positive intentions for the day ahead. This helps me cultivate a calm and focused mindset.

After meditation, I meditate on light stretching or yoga to wake up my body and get the energy flowing. Physical activity in the morning boosts my mood and enhances my overall well-being, and I love that this takes me anywhere between 10-20 minutes. In this sense, my morning routine takes me 30 minutes, not two hours like ‘That Girl morning routine’ you see on Instagram. Once I finish this, I’ll feed my pup Lucy and make a cup of coffee, listen to a podcast or audiobook on Audible, and begin work at 6:30 am where I’ll work through until 11 am.

Breakfast is an essential part of my day. I believe in nourishing my body with wholesome foods, so I often prepare a nutritious meal that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant-based proteins. This fuels me with energy and sustains me throughout the morning. Because I practice intermittent fasting 16:8 (16 hours fasting and an 8-hour eating window), my break-fast is generally around 11 am.

Mid-Morning to Afternoon

As a health and wellness blogger, I spend a significant part of my day working on content creation, editing, reviewing social content created by my Social Media assistant, work meetings and the upkeep of my business. I have a dedicated workspace where I curate blog posts, create engaging social media content, and develop new ideas to inspire my audience.

I prioritize research and staying updated with the latest health and wellness trends. This helps me provide accurate and evidence-based information to my readers. Whether writing articles, shooting recipe videos, or designing infographics, I strive to deliver valuable and inspiring content promoting a healthy lifestyle.

To break things up, I’ll work out either taking Pilates or Megaformer Pilates class at noon or an at-home work out on Alo Moves.

Lunchtime takes place around 2-3 pm, allowing me to recharge and refuel. I prepare a balanced meal, often incorporating fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. I take a break from work and enjoy my meal mindfully, allowing myself to relax and recharge for the rest of the day.

Afternoons are usually dedicated to engaging with my audience. I respond to comments, messages, and emails, providing guidance and support to individuals seeking advice on their health and wellness journey. I believe in building a community and fostering connections with my readers, so I make it a point to engage in meaningful conversations and address their concerns.

Evening Routine

In the evening, I prioritize self-care and winding down. This may include activities such as walking in nature, practicing yoga or Pilates, or reading a book related to personal growth and well-being. Balancing work and personal time is important to prevent burnout and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Dinner takes place around 5:30 or 6 pm is another opportunity for me to nourish my body with wholesome foods. I prepare a meal that includes a variety of colorful vegetables, plant-based proteins, and healthy grains. I strive to experiment with new recipes and flavors, keeping my meals exciting and enjoyable. Dinner is typically on the lighter side.

Before bedtime at 9 pm, I start to unwind an hour before, where I spend some time reflecting on the day and expressing gratitude for the opportunities and experiences that came my way. I may journal or practice gratitude meditation to cultivate a positive mindset.

I prioritize quality sleep, aiming for 7-8 hours every night. A good night’s rest is crucial for my overall well-being, allowing me to wake up refreshed and energized for the next day.
