    There are many benefits to taking a bath, including reducing stress, improving sleep, and relieving muscle aches and pains. But one of the best things about baths is that they’re so versatile. You can customize your bath to suit your needs, whether you want to add some aromatherapy or use a special cleansing product. And there’s no need to spend a lot of money – a simple bath with some Epsom salts can be just as effective as an expensive spa treatment.

    So next time you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, consider running yourself a nice warm bath. It might just be the thing you need to help you relax and recharge.

    Cleanse your energy field

    Run warm water, not too hot or too cold. Throw a handful of Epsom or Dead Sea salts. It’s full of magnesium and other salts that relax your muscles and cleanse your energy field.

    While Dead Sea salts are made up of salt (sodium chloride) and more than 20 minerals, Epsom salts contain no salt at all. Instead, Epsom salts form when high levels of magnesium and sulfate combine in water. They are known as ‘salts’ simply because they resemble salt crystals and have similar properties. Two of my favorite relaxing bath salts are Herbivore Natural Soaking Bath Salts CALM ($18) and Saje Unwind Calming Bath Salt Soak ($20).

    Drink something warm and cozy

    Pour in yourself a chai latte or golden milk latte to soothe, relax, and bring in the Fall vibes. Chai is mentally clarifying and energizing yet calming at the same time. Unlike standard tea, chai tea has substantially more body and flavor and is so delicious with oat milk.

    To make it at home, you can simply use a chai tea bag by pouring 8 oz of boiling water over the tea bags. Allow brewing for at least five minutes. Stir in sugar or stevia until dissolved. Warm oat milk in a small saucepan or milk frother. Pour over your brewed chai tea, sip, smile and enjoy!

    Elevate your ritual with Essential Oils

    Add a few drops of relaxing essential oils. Chamomile, ylang ylang, and rose are a few of my favorites, as well as, Saje essential oils for post-bath.

    Adding essential oils directly to the bath can sometimes cause skin irritation, and may not incorporate well into the water (due to that thing about oil and water not quite mixing!) Instead, add your chosen essential bath oil to bath salts, such as Dead Sea salt or Epsom salt. Simply combine 10 to 15 drops of essential oil and a couple of teaspoons of jojoba oil with a half-cup of bath salts, and then add to the water.

    If you don’t have any bath salts on hand, try adding essential oils for baths to a carrier oil, such as jojoba, coconut, or almond. Mix two ounces of carrier oil with 15 to 20 drops of essential oils in a bottle or jar. Shake well then disperse in warm bathwater. This formula will help carry the essential oils so they can reach your skin easier than if they were on their own. Breathe deeply as the essential oils evaporate to obtain wonderful aromatherapy benefits.
