Reviewing The Always Pan
If you’ve been following me on Instagram these past few months, I’m sure you’ve seen me post about the Our Place Always Pan. It’s pretty amazing how often I use mine. It’s become my go-to pan and it’s been perfect for apartment living in San Francisco, where storage I limited. Due to how often I post on Stories, I thought that instead of doing a traditional Always Pan review, I’d answer some DMs I’ve received about the pan these last few months.
The Always Pan is priced at $145; I would say for the price, it is worth it. The idea is to keep this pan forever without having to replace it. I probably paid more over the years, replacing cheap pans with more cheap pans. Overall, this has been my go-to pan for everything, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to invest and declutter. Keep reading to find out why!
WHY IS THE ALWAYS PAN SO GREAT?
It’s way deeper than most of my skillets (it can make one-pot meals!), non-toxic, and truly non-stick, which makes it a breeze to clean. The Always pan was created and designed to be used for more than one use. Created to replace a frying pan, saute pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan, non-stick pan, spatula, and spoon, rest in your kitchen. This all-in-one pan reduces clutter and leaves you with more space. Something much needed in a smaller space!
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
The Always Pan comes with a wooden spatula, a stainless steel steamer, an eco-friendly sponge, and many colors. I chose the neutral color, Spice. No matter the kitchen, the pan will always be in style!
IT’S NON-STICK—WHAT’S THE DEAL?
Yes! It is non-stick. The coating on it is a non-toxic, non-stick ceramic coating made without potentially toxic materials like PFOAs, PTFEs, other PFAs, lead, cadmium, toxic metals, and nanoparticles. It’s not recommended to use on super high heat–that can make things stick and an oil/grease helps, of course. And it’s super easy to clean. No need to soak!
IS THERE ANYTHING THE ALWAYS PAN CAN’T DO?
It’s not oven safe, so don’t stick it in there. Also, nonstick pans aren’t the best for searing because you shouldn’t use super high heat on them, but occasionally is fine. Although it’s dishwasher safe, I’d advise not to put it in the dishwasher to extend the longevity of it.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE FEATURES OF THE ALWAYS PAN?
I love the spatula holder! It’s genius, and I wish all pans came with that. The steamer basket is also super handy. I steam vegetables like carrots, bok choy, and broccoli. It’s also great for dumplings. You can steam them and then pan-fry for a little crisp, all in the same pan!
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THE ALWAYS PAN?
YES! I think it’s a great option if you’re a novice cook who makes only a few things or even more advanced, as I’ve used it for one-pot meals for my family. It’s definitely my go-to pan and I think it’s the only one I’ve used for the past few months, with the exception of a large pot for boiling water. It would also make a fabulous gift!
IS OUR PLACE A SUSTAINABLE BRAND?
Absolutely! Our Place is also dedicated to sustainability practices and invests in the local community; most recently, they donated 200,000 meals to those affected by COVID-19.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, if you aren’t super passionate about cooking and live in a small apartment or don’t have a ton of storage, the Always Pan could be the answer you’re looking for. Another reason could be you need a stellar pan, and Our Place could be perfect for you. As I said earlier, I do reach for it pretty often, and it’s so easy to use and clean.
