When it comes to discovering self-love, it’s going to start with you. It’s going to start with what you can do to bring big and little moments of happiness into your life. Getting hits of dopamine from endlessly scrolling isn’t going to cut it; it’s not enough, and it’s not healthy either (especially when trying to get a dopamine kick). Instead, you should try to make your own life great and find happiness in it.

Seeing people on social media showing off their cute houses, their luxury vacations, the expensive clothes, and, in general, their SM-perfect lifestyle isn’t going to help you. You have to try to do what you can to get yourself into loving your life. It’s about falling in love with your life and falling in love with a life that you can love- your own life. But where can you even get started with this? Well, it’s not that hard at all, actually; here’s what you need to know!

Nourish Your Body and Soul

So this might be generic advice, but there’s so much truth to this! When you’re taking care of your physical and emotional well-being, you’re essentially fostering a deep sense of love and appreciation for your life. Do things that are good for you, and start prioritizing self-care activities such as exercise, healthy eating, adequate sleep, and relaxation techniques that nourish your body and soul. Listen to your body’s cues, honor your needs, and make choices that support your overall well-being.

So, this might be easier said than done, but gently push yourself. Don’t let laziness get in the way. Over time, you’ll notice massive differences.

Make Your Food Cute

Sometimes, just adding in that extra bit of effort will help your dining experience a little more. When you go out to eat, you get happy when you see how beautifully decorated the plate is, right? How about when you see cakes or food at bakeries? Visually appealing food doesn’t need to be hard to make.

You can even use an easy to make strawberry shortcake recipe and add some edible flowers to it (like what you see on Pinterest or Instagram), and that alone will immediately make the experience of eating the cake all the better. Overall, just add some food presentation to your meals, as this is going to make your life feel so much more lovelier.

Are You Pursuing Your Passions?

Seriously, engaging in activities that ignite your passion and creativity is essential for nurturing a love affair with your own life. If you do what you hate, and especially if you’re not doing what you love, how will you find happiness? Do what makes you happy, what you find fulfilling. This doesn’t always have to be binge-watching TV shows; it could even be painting, dancing, gardening, or playing music.

You’ll have to start making time for the activities that bring you joy and fulfillment; you can’t just work, sleep, and scroll every day. You need to live life and make it beautiful!
